Diets Aren’t for Losers
The word Diet really has a bad connotation. Someone is either on a Diet or off a Diet, neither is a good place to be. The best use of the word is to simply let it refer to the things we eat. In other words, “my diet consists of mostly healthy foods.” We’ll simply proclaim our lifestyle is one in which we eat Healthy.
You can manage your Calories and Macros (fats, carbs, protein) within a healthy lifestyle. By making smart choices individual macros can be adjusted for your best benefit.
First, sugar must go!
There is nothing positive about putting sugar in your new lifestyle. In fact, when a person consumes sugar it can lead to a multitude of negative health conditions. Jillian Kubala, MS, RD says added sugar is the most unhealthy ingredient in the modern American diet. She and other health professionals believe sugar consumption is a major cause of obesity and many chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes.
In a Healthline article from June 2018 they listed 10 reasons added sugar are bad for your health:
Causes Weight Gain
May Increase your risk of Heart Disease
Linked to Acne
Increases risk of of Type 2 Diabetes
Can increase Cancer risk
May increase risk of Depression
Accelerates Skin aging process
Can advance Cellular Aging

Can Lead to Fatty Liver
There are several other reasons but you get the point.
So why exactly do we make the choice to ingest sugar at such a high rate?! There are many healthy alternatives to sugar that will fulfill our sweet tooth but maintain our healthy lifestyle. When you’re looking to make this swap you can look for Stevia, Erythritol, Allulose, Boca Sweet, and many others. These are so versatile, you can add these to marinades and sauces, as well as bake with them. I personally use each of these on a daily basis because I enjoy sweets. I also use them in my coffee and teas. For my family and me blowing sugar out of our home has been a game changer and with the replacements we don’t feel deprived whatsoever!
Drop sugar for awhile! You’ve got nothing to lose but weight and negative health consequences.
Second, add more whole foods to your table.
Chicken, Beef, Fish and Vegetables are a great place to start. These types of foods fill you up and keep you feeling full longer. Plus, the nutrient benefits you get from eating foods you cook and haven’t been processed is Huge.
